A Red Carpet Workout You Can Do at Home
With the Oscars coming up on Sunday, you can be sure of one thing: Most of the celebs are getting ready with some great lastminute workouts to get their bodies perfect for the cameras and those gowns! And just how do Alisters like Courteney Cox, Julianne Moore, and David Arquette tone up before a big event like the Oscars? Well, they enlist the help of Michele Lovitt, celebrity trainer and Zobha's new brand ambassador, that's how!
But you don't have to be a celeb to get Oscarready like one. Lovitt recently shared her favorite five moves that help her celeb clients get primed for the red carpet. And the best part is that you can easily do them at home!
1. Twisting Squat. If you want to sculpt your entire body like Courteney Cox, this is it, Lovitt says. This squat works your arms, core, legs and rear.
To begin, stand with feet shoulderwidth apart, holding a 5 to 10pound dumbbell in each hand, with your elbows bent to 90 degrees and your palms facing forward. Keeping your chest lift, lower down into a squat. 3. Pelvic Tilt. For that tight firm booty that will look good in anything on the red carpet, try this simple move, Lovitt says.
Begin by lying face up on the floor, knees bent, ankles under knees and tilt your hips up, keeping your butt on the floor and flattening your spine. Hold for a few seconds and then return to starting position. Aim for 2 to 3 sets of 25 reps!
4. Push Ups. There's nothing more complementary to a dress than some toned arms and a strong chest to hold it up. And pushups are a great way to get them. Shoot for three sets of 10 to 15 reps.
5. Forward Lunge. "To get your legs red carpet ready, try this exercise to work your glutes, quads and hamstrings," Lovitt recommends.

"For example, interval training, when you're keeping your heart rate up between 70 to 85 percent of your maximum. You are still in your fatburning zone but at a higher intensity resulting in a higher calorie burn," she says. "Brisk walk for 30 seconds followed by a jog for 30 seconds. Repeat for 20 minutes."
